WATERLOO – A Northern Iowa man was found in a burning van at a downtown Waterloo parking ramp and later passed away.
On Saturday, March 11, 2023, at approximately 6:59 AM, consolidated dispatch took a report of a vehicle fire in the parking ramps at 5th street and Commercial in downtown Waterloo. Fire Rescue and Waterloo Police responded and discovered a van on fire, with an unconscious male inside. Waterloo Fire was able to transport the male to Unity Point Allen Hospital, were he was later pronounced deceased.
The male has been identified as 30 yrs. old Roger Stoddard of Manchester, Iowa.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
