WASHINGTON – An army of radical, murderous Islamists is claiming territory in Syria and Iraq, while raping and murdering practically anyone in its path who gets in its way, and now the President of the United States will address the nation tonight on this mounting threat.

President Barack Obama will take to the airwaves at 8:00 PM central time on your favorite news channel and lay out his strategy to slow down and defeat the ISIS-ISIL army, which is now said to have Brits and even some Americans joining its ranks. ISIS-ISIL has so far beaten back the Iraqi army and has faced some resistance from Kurdish forces in the north. It threatens a massive water supply as it attempts to take over a dam near Mosul, as well as oil supplies and other key targets.

So far, U.S. Central Command has conducted well over a hundred airstrikes across Iraq in response to the threat.

Americans are eagerly awaiting the President’s plan on how to deal with ISIS-ISIL, after earlier admitting he had no plan.

Most recently, over last weekend, President Obama “talked a little bit about the progress that we have made thus far in terms of our taking the fight to ISIL and protecting the lives of Americans in the region,” his press secretary said Tuesday.

“The President indicated in the course of [a weekend interview] that we would enter the next phase” of dealing with ISIS-ISIL after a series of military strikes have already taken place, and some U.S. military personnel have been sent to the Iraq battlefield. “And what the President will talk about in the speech tomorrow is what that next phase entails.”

It is a possibility that Obama will underscore the importance of the new Iraqi government coming together to protect its own people and shoring up its military to accomplish a defeat of ISIS-ISIL, likely with American aid.

Today, Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Baghdad, Iraq to meet with Iraqi Government officials to welcome them on the successful formation of a new government and to discuss how the United States can increase its support to Iraq’s new government in the effort to defeat ISIS-ISIL. He will also discuss the meetings he held with numerous foreign counterparts at the NATO Summit in Wales last week on ISIS-ISIL with Iraq officials.

“Generally speaking,” the press secretary continued, “at the core of that next phase is understanding and protecting the core national security interests of the United States and protecting the American people.  So there are a couple of different ways in which the President will talk about this in ways that are important.

“The President believes that this is a high national security priority.”

On September 5, President Obama foreshadowed his plan.

“NATO allies and partners are prepared to join in a broad international effort to combat the threat posed by ISIL,” the president said. “Already, allies have joined us in Iraq, where we have stopped ISIL’s advances,” he added. “We’ve equipped our Iraqi partners and help them go on offense. NATO has agreed to play a role in providing security and humanitarian assistance to those who are on the front lines.”

How big is the threat to America from ISIS-ISIL, and what do you want to hear from the President during tonight’s address?
