Two child rapists caught trying to enter US

TUSCON, US – Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two convicted sex offenders this week. One of the subjects is a U.S. citizen and the other was a citizen of Mexico.

Both felons were previously convicted of sex crimes against children: illegal sexual contact of a minor child, and indecency with a child-sexual contact. In addition to sexual assault, one of the offenders was also convicted for resisting arrest.

The man from Mexico was previously charged, convicted and removed from the U.S. Last month, however, he was apprehended for immigration violations. He was processed for prosecution and removal proceedings in accordance with Tucson Sector prosecution guidelines.

In addition to enforcing immigration laws, the Border Patrol contributes to a safer America by removing dangerous criminals from the country. All individuals apprehended by the Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks using the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System, a vital tool for ensuring illegal immigrants with criminal histories are positively identified.
