WASHINGTON – Inspectors with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) found numerous dangerous items on passengers as they tried to board aircraft in United States airports.

Among the items found was a loaded .45 caliber pistol with six rounds and one chambered, strapped to the ankle of a Pittsburgh passenger during a pat-down after he had opted out of Advanced Imaging Technology.

A total of 28 firearms were discovered this week– Of the 28 firearms, 25 were loaded and eight had rounds chambered.

The TSA also said that it “continues to find inert hand grenades and other weaponry on a weekly basis. Please keep in mind that if an item looks like a realistic bomb, grenade, mine, etc., it is prohibited – real or not. When these items are found at a checkpoint or in checked baggage, they can cause significant delays in checkpoint screening. While they may be novelty items, you cannot bring them on a plane.”

I put all my contraband into my checked luggage…

The public probably feels it needs to protect itself from all the Obama supporters who hang around the airports just waiting to attack someone. I can see where they would be concerned over guns and knives and certainly swords. However, inert hand grenades are completely harmless. They are just used for show. They should just have people declare them, inspect them and leave it alone.
