CHARLES CITY — A Northern Iowa woman was arrested after police say officers were called to a Charles City disturbance involving a subject who was out of control.
The Charles City Police Department said officers responded at 11:08 PM on June 27, 2026, to the 400 block of Clinton Street.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested 23-year-old Keisha Ann Fritz (pictured at top) of Charles City on a charge of domestic abuse assault, first offense.
The charge is a simple misdemeanor under Iowa law.
Court records show the case was filed in Floyd County as State of Iowa vs. Keisha Ann Fritz, case number SMCR031017.
A criminal complaint was filed by the Charles City Police Department on June 28, 2026. Court records also show a no-contact order was entered in the case.
Fritz’s bond was set at $300 cash only in the defendant’s name only. Matthew De Jong was appointed as her attorney.
A pretrial conference is scheduled for 10:00 AM on August 12, 2026.
Domestic abuse assault first offense is punishable under Iowa law as a simple misdemeanor, which can carry jail time, fines and court-ordered conditions if a defendant is convicted.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation. Fritz is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
