Meth dealer who served short prison stint back in jail

MASON CITY – A Mason City man who was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2012 but served only a few months is now back in jail.

Chad Donald Wood, age 34, took a voluntary plea in January of 2012 for dealing methamphetamine.  Wood had been arrested along with fourteen other defendants in July of 2012 as part of an investigation by the North Iowa Drug Task Force.  Judge Colleen Weiland sentenced Wood to 10 years in prison for the offense, plus court costs and fees.  A fine of $1,000.00 was not assessed.

Wood was sent to Anamosa State Penitentiary later in 2012, only to be released in June of 2013.  A payment plan was then set requiring Wood to pay $50.00 per month toward his court cost and fees.

A criminal complaint against Wood was filed by the Iowa Department of Corrections on November 12th, and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Wood was picked up by Mason City police at his home on Saturday evening at about 9 PM and taken to jail, where he is being held on no bond.

his meth was good affff.

He is just mis-understood. He is a good drugger. Just give him some more meth and a little pot and he will be fine.

If he smoked and drank would that make him a better drugger?

You are so cute. Does your momma know you are up so late?

See? Being “on paper” is better than letting out a violent criminal. Just because a guy is out of prison doesn’t mean they’re not “on paper”. Being on paper is so tough many defendants choose to execute their sentences instead, which means spending much longer behind bars.

@iowa sucks…..or the other alternative he has is don’t break the law again, and again, and again. Don’t want to hear anymore about the poor poor pitiful me drug dealer. Live by the laws and you wont have this problem
