MONTGOMERY, IOWA – An emergency call in this tiny Northern Iowa town led police to discover a shooting victim and hunt down a suspect, who now faces an attempted murder charge.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call on May 5 2024 at 5:18 PM reporting a shooting in Montgomery. Sheriff’s deputies and police responded, secured the scene and gave medical care to the single victim.
After police investigated, they warned the public that 20-year-old Caleb Crosby (pictured at top) was wanted in connection to this incident, to lock their cars, and “do not approach or attempt to make contact, call 911 immediately.” A few hours later, police announced that Crosby was arrested and charged with attempted murder and vehicle theft and booked into the Dickinson County Jail.
