Our beloved Ferdinand “Fred” Earl Julien, 87, passed away May 2, 2024 at his home in Nora Springs, Iowa.

Join us for a celebration of life on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 3:00 pm at St. Luke Lutheran Church at 101 N. Hawkeye Ave., Nora Springs, IA 50458.

Fred was born September 13, 1936 in Nora Springs, son of Earl and Mary (Hartmann) Julien. He attended Nora Springs schools and he went on to follow in his father’s footsteps driving semi-trucks around the country for over a decade before opening up and running his own business, Julien Auto Wrecking in Nora Springs. Fred united in marriage to Donna Haake in November 1966.

In his retirement years, Fred enjoyed collecting odds and ends and scrapping. He always liked being on his feet and working on something. Fred enjoyed spending quality time with his family; he especially loved to spend time with his granddaughters doing activities like fishing or riding his moped around in the summertime. Fred has always been well-known in his community and was an outgoing man who could start up a conversation with anyone and everyone no matter where he was.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna; daughter, Dana (Rob) Paulsen; and granddaughters, Allie and Carly.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; and his stepdaughter Kelly Stockstill.
