Snow and drizzle causing accidents all over the area

MASON CITY – Many accidents were reported starting at 3:30 p.m. Monday.

An accident with injuries was called into the Mason City Police Department and Fire Department and Ambulance at the High School around 3:35.

It was reported that at least one victim was transported to Mercy Medical.

An accident at the NIACC was reported around 4:00 p.m. in the parking lot area with a SAAB and SUV. There were no injuries and was handled by the Mason City Police Department with students filling out reports.

A accident on the 900 block of South Virginia was reported to the Mason City Police Department at approximately 4:10 p.m. It was a minor fender bender with no injuries.

Two accidents were reported around 7:00 p.m. in the Clear Lake area. One on North Shore with an injury.

It was reported that Interstate 35 was 100% ice covered.

More precipitation is expected to arrive in the area on Wednesday.
