On Wednesday at 12:07 p.m. a Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported stolen from 473 Indianhead Drive in Mason City. The suspect, Tristan Swanson, 18, from Des Moines, had just been released from the Cerro Gordo County Jail. He backed into another parked vehicle and fled the area.
Swanson was arrested today by Windsor Heights, Iowa Police for an unrelated incident. The stolen jeep was recovered in the Polk County area around the same time. Mason City Police applied for an arrest warrant for Swanson, charging him with 2nd degree theft, a class “D” felony.
Subject is innocent until proven guilty.
