Senator Grassley began his day in Cresco, where 46 people turned out to greet him. The issues discussed there were gas tax, ethanol, and the flat tax.
From there, the Senator went to New Hampton for a tour of Atek Metals and then a question and answer session with 150 employees. Issues mainly discussed were taxes and health care.
Next, Senator Grassley traveled to Charles City for a public meeting sponsored by the Rotary Club. About 47 people attended. Issues discussed were the no child left behind law, taxes, immigration, student loans, energy, Dodd-frank tax reforms and health care.
The Senator traveled west to Mason City for a stop at the Golden Grain Energy plant, where about 200 people attended. Issues discussed were DHS appropriations, how politicians work together, taxes, the EPA, and Section 179.
Osage was another stop Monday, at Fox River Mills, where 150 showed up. Issues discussed there were Section 179, the XL pipeline, taxes, education and health care.
