
CLEAR LAKE — Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to a structure fire Wednesday evening that caused significant damage to a Clear Lake home. The Clear Lake Fire Department was dispatched to the ranch-style residence at 820 W 22nd Ave N at 7:31 p.m. after the homeowner reported the blaze.

Upon arrival, fire crews encountered heavy smoke billowing from the residence. Firefighters made entry and located the source of the fire in the kitchen area, where they were able to quickly bring the flames under control. Following the initial knockdown, crews ventilated the home and conducted overhaul operations to ensure the fire had not spread into the walls or attic.
The Clear Lake Fire Department responded to the scene with 24 personnel, deploying three engines, two medic units, and a pickup truck. The Ventura Fire Department provided mutual aid with six firefighters and two additional engines. The Clear Lake Police Department and the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with scene management.
Authorities reported that no injuries were sustained by the occupants or emergency responders. Damage to the property is currently estimated at $150,000. While the specific cause of the fire remains under investigation, fire officials stated that the incident is not considered suspicious at this time.
