BURT, IOWA – A remote home in Kossuth county was burglarized, and the three suspects cops rounded up allegedly stole a lock box loaded with cash and a gun.
On June 17, 2025, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary and theft at 1309 300th Street, near Burt, Iowa. The reporting person indicated a lock box with a handgun was stolen from within the residence. It was then later reported that this lock box also contained an undetermined amount of cash.
Kossuth county deputies worked on gathering evidence and information that led them to three suspects in this case. On June 26, 2025, three suspects were arrested and taken to the Kossuth County Jail:
– Edwin Bergstrom-Erlandson, age 20 of Algona

– Mason Leeper, age 18 of Algona

– Heaven Jorgensen, age 18 of Algona

All were charged with:
– 2 Counts of 2nd Degree Burglary, a Class C felony
– Theft in 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony
– Trafficking a Stolen Weapon, a Class D Felony
The stolen cash was recovered and deputies continue to gather information on locating the stolen weapon.
