On November 10th , 2024, Ron went home to be with the LORD and to be reunited with loved ones that had passed on before his time.
Ron was an extremely devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He was passionate about his church and devoted much of his life to serving the LORD. This was how he demonstrated his love for the LORD the most, through service to others.
Ron volunteered to assist crews repairing homes after storm damage in Alabama and Texas, helped with projects at Cedar Springs Camp in Floyd, IA, helped people move on a regular basis, and even served as a leader for his Bible Study at The Bridge Church. Wherever there was a need, Ron was willing to serve.
As his health declined, he enjoyed sitting on the patio with his wife, Anita, watching the birds and squirrels play. Ron lovingly accepted his step-son, Ray, who also affectionately called him “Dad”. Ron enjoyed his visits with Ray, as he always made Ron laugh: sharing jokes or the funny things that had happened in his life.
Today, we have an opportunity to celebrate the life of Ron Jessen, a giving, kind & loving man that was always there for anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Ron’s passing at The Bridge Church on November 18th, at 10:30 A.M. A luncheon will be served following the service where family and friends are welcomed to gather and share stories and memories together as they celebrate Ron’s life and legacy.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce who passed away in 2017; his parents, Soren and Anna Mae Jean Jessen; and brother; Kenneth Jessen.
He is survived by his wife, Anita; children, Kevin (Kim) Jessen of Joice, Iowa, Keith (Julie) Jessen of Fertile, Iowa, and Kim Jessen of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin; grandchildren: Julia Jessen; Kelli (Matt) Welp, Kassi (Scott) Salsbury; Katie (Ryan Nelson) Jessen; Jennifer (Matt) Olson; and Brittany (Sam) Newell; great grandchildren: Makenna, Brayden, and Brinley Welp; Carter and Olivia Nelson; Jamie and Soren Olson; and Bailey Holtorf; step-son, Ray; sister, Coleen Small of Atlantic, Iowa; and brother, Loren of Novelty, Missouri.
