Rita A. Stevenson, 91 of Mason City, passed away March 13, 2024.
Rita was born on February 23, 1933, in Britt, IA to Joseph and Ella (Buckley) Chizek. She was a graduate of Britt High School. In 1955 Rita was united in marriage to John Stevenson at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Britt. Their union blossomed into the gift of two sons, Michael and Kent.
Throughout her life, Rita found joy in the camaraderie of card clubs, the leisurely pursuit of golf, church circles and activities, weekend camping trips, and spending time with family.
Rita’s legacy lives on through her surviving son, Kent (Allison); grandchildren, Hannah (Chris Olson), Nell (Geoff) Wagner, and Brett (William) Heimbuch; three great grandchildren, Jett, Remi, and Griffin; and sisters, Veronica (Bill) Lawlor and Margie Jano.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Michael; brother, Virgil Chezik; and sisters, Kay Pistek, Rosella Daniels, and Irene Hiscocks.
A private family service and burial will be held at a future date.
Memorials may be directed to Epiphany Parish or Hospice of North Iowa.
