UNI football opens 2022 at Air Force, spends most of October at home

CEDAR FALLS – The Panthers will open their 2022 UNI football season on the road and spend October in the UNI-Dome.

Panther fans will be treated to six games in the UNI-Dome. The home season will kick off with Hall of Fame weekend against Sacramento State. The Hornets entered the 2021 FCS Playoffs as a No. 4 seed. The two-time Big Sky champs were undefeated in conference play last season and return a strong corps of starters, including tight end Marshel Martin, an FCS All-American.

UNI will open the 2022 fall season on the road at Air Force. It will be the first time the Panthers and Falcons have ever met. The first Missouri Valley Football Conference opponent will come early against the newest member of the MVFC. UNI will meet North Dakota for the first time as a Valley opponent in the second week of the season on the road.
