CONRAD – The DNR is investigating a fish kill in Wolf Creek west of Conrad in Grundy County.

Reported late Tuesday morning, DNR environmental specialists have been on site since early afternoon. They have found a potential source of the fish kill and suspect a chemical pollutant. Water testing will further define the source.

DNR fisheries staff is conducting a fish kill count. They’ve found dead catfish, northern pike, suckers and minnows in about one mile of stream.

The DNR will continue to investigate and monitor the situation.
