MASON CITY – A Clear Lake woman was taken to hospital Thursday morning after an auto accident in Mason City.
A Mason City police spokesman tells NIT that the crash occurred at 9:37 AM on Thursday, June 6, 2019. Drivers were Rebecca Mathews of Clear Lake and John Hurd of Mason City. Mathews was eastbound on 19th Street and Hurd was westbound. Hurd was traveling through the intersection at Eisenhower and 19th Street and Mathews turned in front of him. Mathews’ vehicle sustained approximately $15,000 damage and Hurd’s $10,000.
Mathews was transported to MercyOne by MCFD ambulance.
Mathews was cited for failure to yield right of way upon making a left turn.

Oh that would tick me off if someone pulled in front of me like this and put 2 cars out of commission as well as endangering lives. Usually someone is on the cell phone. What was the reason here?
