WAVERLY – An Osage woman is guilty of drunk driving and illegal drug possession and is now serving a jail sentence.
On March 5, 2016, The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation led to the arrest of Stephanie Kloberdanz, age 31 of Osage, for second offense operating while intoxicated. Kloberdanz was also charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Kloberdanz was taken to the Bremer county jail. After release, she entered a written plea of not guilty.
However, after a guilty plea to both charges that came later, she was sentenced on December 13 to 180 days in jail with 172 suspended (on both charges). She was put on probation for 2 years and lost her license for 180 days. She didn’t serve her jail sentence immediately, however, and a warrant for her arrest was issued.
On January 29, 2017, the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kloberdanz on an outstanding arrest warrant connected to this case. Kloberdanz is currently being held in the Bremer County Jail.
Kloberdanz was last caught drunk driving back in 2008, when Osage police stopped her. She pleaded guilty.
