GARNER – A North Iowa man was given a deferred judgement in a felony sex abuse cause involving a teen girl.
Christopher Jade Johnson, age 22 of Whittemore, Iowa, received a deferred judgment for the underlying charge of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony. The charge stemmed from an investigation by the Hancock County Sheriffs Office on March 14, 2015. Records indicate Johnson’s victim was a teen girl under the age of 17.
At sentencing this past November, the court placed Johnson on probation for five years under supervision by the Department of Correctional Services and ordered him to pay a fine of $625.00, plus court costs, surcharges, and attorney fees. The court prohibited Johnson from having unapproved contact with minors and required that he complete the Sex Offender Treatment Program as a condition of his probation. Johnson will also be required to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years.
