DES MOINES – The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Wind Chill Warning, which is in effect from 6 pm this evening to noon CST Monday.
A reinforcing shot of Arctic air will push into the state today. This will allow for very cold temperatures and gusty northwest winds across the area tonight. The combination of the cold temperatures and gusty winds will lead to bitterly cold conditions and dangerously cold wind chills tonight into Monday morning.

Winds and wind chill temperatures, wind chills will drop to 25 below to 35 below due to the combination of bitterly cold temperatures and gusty northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph.
Impacts: Frostbite and possibly hypothermia or death if exposure to outside elements lasts for more than 15 minutes without proper winter weather clothing. Even a few minutes in this environment can lead to health complications such as numbness and severe frostbite.
