EMAIL MONDAY MORNING TO ALL 8 CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES:
Good morning gentlemen.
I’d like to answer a few questions for you all that I’ve gotten.
1) How many candidates will be at the forum?
A) At least 5, as we have 5 solid commitments. One candidate indicated he has a child care issue but wants to attend. Another candidate may have a work conflict but wants to attend. If they work those issues out, that is 7. One candidate declined our invitation outright, before a date/time/location was announced and said he is too busy. I hope he reconsiders this decision, as the voters will be watching live, in person, and the news coverage to follow. All 8 candidates are fully invited and will be treated with the utmost respect, that is a guarantee, and I always deliver. That being said, I am feeling very good with the 5 candidates who are stepping up so far. The people of Mason City will see your transparency.
2) Questions and format
A) All 8 candidates will get a chance, first, to introduce themselves in general. Once we get through that round, all 8 candidates will explain their campaign platform. From there, I will have several questions to pose to the panel. Everyone will get a shot at these who want to answer, but I will not coax or make someone answer if they don’t try to get involved. Once we work through what I have, I will accept q’s from the audience. Finally, I will have all 8 candidates tell the voters why that person should get the vote.
We should be all wrapped up by 8 PM or so, maybe sooner (?). Please arrive at 6 to put on a name tag and mingle with citizens who will also arrive at 6 PM. At 6:30, we will be seated and I will begin. I have wireless mic’s coming and a professional photographer. We will also attempt to FACEBOOK LIVE STREAM the event but that depends on internet connection, so I’m not publicizing or promising that just yet.

Well it was obvious who knew more at the forum. But people will vote out of hatetrid for him versus knowledge. I will write this again when we get the outcome article. You all know in your hearts the guy it should be but your stubborn ignorance will get in the way. Talk about transparent.
Actually, you are correct. Even though I am not a Weaver fan he was by far the most qualified at the forum. He has always had his facts straight, it is just sometimes his emotions get in the way of his common sense. If the forum is the only measurement, I would have to vote for him.

Great job Matt!! Max has the knowledge to answer questions from experience, not from John Skipper articles. So just stay on course Max and don’t get carry away with your responses. You got my vote!!

Anyone who turns down a talk with citizens for an up coming election should be off the ballet period. Chicken shit is the correct title. Same as Solberg running from her duties. Let’s be honest here, we all know who they can’t compete with and have really no idea of an honest action and true unselfish leadership. If Bookmeyer and gang support them, obviously they are cut from the same dirty cloth.
Vote Max and cut the disgusting disturbing behavior of the current table.
Bookmeyer pulled the same crap in the last election. They refused to debate because they had no answers for what they had done. The sheep voted them in anyway.

I will venture a guess which candidate flat out turned down the invitation before even knowing when & where.
Which candidate is the one that is tied in heavily to the existing establishment?
Which candidate is the one that is tied in & cozy with the Chamber of Commerce?
Which candidate is the one that strongly supported the Prestage deal?

Does anyone else think that Bookmeyer looks and sounds like the Mayor of Munchkin land in the Wizard of Oz?
I’m guessing Andy is afraid to show everyone how bad his grammar, vocabulary, and ability to speak in complete sentences are. It’s obvious someone else wrote his comments in the Globe today. Definitely not from Andy. Is it too much to ask to have some intelligence on the council? Even Max has a very good understanding of the English language.
