LANSING, Minnesota — Northern Iowa families looking for an affordable nearby outing can enjoy dirt-track racing, children’s giveaways and community fundraising Friday night at Chateau Speedway.
Midwest Repairables Night will be held Friday, August 7, 2026, at the speedway in Lansing, Minnesota, located just north of the Iowa border.
General admission gates will open at 5 p.m., with racing scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m.
The evening will feature five racing divisions:
Meadow Greens Golf Course B-Mods
Skjeveland Enterprises USRA Stock Cars
USRA Hobby Stocks
J&S JCB ECO Mods
HSRA High School Racing Association
Outlaw Mini-Mods will not compete this week.
In addition to the racing action, the speedway is organizing a backpack giveaway to help children begin the new school year with needed supplies.
Businesses, racing teams, families and fans have already donated 81 backpacks and 10 gift cards. The speedway continues to accept backpacks, school supplies and monetary donations ahead of Friday’s event.
Contributors include Krohnberg Racing, the Lisowski family, Rich Hanenberger, Lisa Hanenberger, Amber Rose, Carley Greening, Strife Etching, the Jason Newkirk Racing Family, 22H Jayme Hiller Racing, Chateau Speedway, Midwest Repairables and anonymous supporters.
Midwest Repairables has donated four $25 Walmart gift cards to be awarded during the event.
Chateau Speedway and 22H Jayme Hiller Racing have also each donated two $20 Shoe Sensation gift cards.
Fans may support another local cause through a 50/50 raffle benefiting the Lyle Cancer Group.
“We’re incredibly thankful for every business, race team, family and fan who has stepped up to support this giveaway,” Chateau Speedway officials said. “The racing community has once again shown that it’s about much more than what happens on the track. Together, we’re helping local kids start the school year with confidence.”
Admission is $12 for adults age 13 and older, $5 for children ages 6 through 13, and free for children age 5 and younger.
The combination of racing, giveaways and affordable admission makes the event a potential Friday-night activity for families from North Iowa communities within driving distance of the speedway.
