DES MOINES — As Donald Trump moves forward with his campaign in preparation for the general election, it is clear that his reckless economic policies will put us on a path toward recession. Leading economists predict Trump’s economic strategy will cost up to 3.5 million jobs, explode our national debt and only put more money into the pockets of the wealthy. Time and time again, Trump has proven that he only cares about himself and has built his empire on the backs of the working class he claims to champion. Trump has a history of running fraudulent scams aimed at the vulnerable, and we cannot allow him to apply these dangerous schemes to our national economy. Trump’s history of rooting for a bad economy and his refusal to reveal his tax returns highlight the fact that Trump lacks the temperament and responsibility to do what’s best for our national economy.

“We must elect a President who will drive an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top. Donald Trump is a bully who is only concerned with self-promotion and personal gain. While millions are forced to work long hours and multiple jobs, Trump claims that wages are already too high. He is clearly a friend of Wall Street, not the working class.”
“Democrats are committed to making wealthy, big corporations pay their fair share. Families are working harder than ever and getting paid less. Donald Trump’s economic policies will only favor people like him in the top 1%. His misguided economic agenda will put our country on a path toward recession and leave working families behind. Trump’s history of outsourcing jobs and record of labor violations further highlight his inability to keep us on the right economic track. Working families only win when there is a Democrat in the Oval Office,”
