CHARLES CITY – One person was hurt and another cited by police in a Charles City auto accident.
On April 6, 2021 at about 12:14 PM, officers with the Charles City police department investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Wright Avenue and Owen Street. A maroon 2005 Buick Lacrosse driven by 18-year-old Cole White of Charles City was east bound on Owen Street when a silver 2018 Buick Envision driven by 82-year-old Karen Forsyth of Charles City was southbound on Wright Avenue. Forsyth allegedly failed to obey the yield sign and entered the intersection, striking the Lacrosse in the intersection.
As a result of the collision, police say Forsyth all be cited for failure to obey the yield sign. Police say one unidentified subject was taken to the hospital to be treated for possible injuries.
The total estimated damage from the accident was about $15,000.
