NIACC’s Day, 4×800 men’s relay team earn USTFCCCA all-American honors

niacc_trojans_logoMASON CITY – NIACC’s Jacob Day and the Trojans’ 4×800-meter relay team earned United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association all-American honors for their performances at the NJCAA outdoor track and field national meet recently.

Day placed fifth in the 10,000 meter run in a school record time of 32 minutes, 12.64 seconds.

The NIACC men’s 4×800 team of Mark Maddox, Jose Aguilera, John Enright, Imad Amenzou placed fourth in a school-record time of 7:54.51.

It is the second straight season that the NIACC men’s 4×800 team has earned all-American honors. Last season, Enright, Oryiane Espeut, Maddox, and Brad Petersen placed seventh in 7:55.04.

The top eight placewinners in each event earn USTFCCCA all-American honors.
