ROCKFORD, IOWA – The School Board President at Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock has resigned after an incident where a student was dealt with who allegedly used profanity.
According to information sent to the NIT newsroom, 59-year-old Timothy Trettin submitted his resignation from the Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock school board and the board accepted it last month. He had served 8 years and was the board president.
According to a letter sent to NIT, the incident that led to Mr. Trettin’s resignation began at the school’s weight room.
“He was trying to access the weight room one day and there were some high school students using the room as well. The students were enjoying a little horse play by holding a door shut when Mr. Trettin couldn’t get in. When he gained access to the room he grabbed one of the students by the throat and pinned him up against the wall. The parents of the student are upset with the former president.”
Court records show no charges have been brought against Mr. Trettin, who, according to other reports, apologized to the student for the incident.

As everyone has already said, this article is horribly inaccurate. There was zero throat grabbing or not allowing Trettin to get in the door. Just goes to show you anybody can throw quotes around something to make it look legit…shouldn’t be surprised though as NIT tries to act like TMZ. Should be embarrassed…..
Why are there sources quoted in this article.? Who sent this letter you are quoting? Anyone could send a letter claiming the facts. If you were a real news organization you would have quoted and confirmed sources. As such, this looks like NIT took no time to confirm anything. Third rate “news” outlet

I would urge NIT to pull this article, as it contains no actual facts. The student(s) never directed any attention to Mr Trettin. In fact, Mr Trettin attacked the student from behind a good 10 minutes after the fact. This is not the first incident Mr Trettin has had with students. Several months ago Mr Trettin tried to pull a another student out of a car after he had blocked the car in on main street. And any one who that a 59 year old man has a right to put his hands on any one let only a student had better engage brain before being critical.

Wow, this isn’t even close to being accurate. Mr. Trettin was in the weight room and was watching another kid holding the door shut to other kids that were outside. There was no grabbing anyone’s throat of any kind or pinning someone against the wall. Get your story straight next time.
The parents are upset with the former president. I GET THAT! But are the parents also upset that their child is a NAUGHTY BRAT?
Did the parents hold their child accountable for creating this HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT/SITUATION?
