MASON CITY – A Mason City man is facing a felony charge of domestic abuse involving strangulation after an incident late Saturday night.
Mason City police responded to a report of a domestic incident at 17 23rd Street SW on Saturday, January 23 at about 9:56 PM. At the scene, an investigation was conducted leading to a charge of aggravated misdemeanor domestic abuse assault brought against 24-year-old Jorge Antonio Sanchez.
Sanchez was arrested the next day. Apparently after further investigation, the charge was amended to felony domestic abuse assault on January 25. He now awaits a hearing on February 12 and appears to be out of jail. A no-contact protective order was set by a judge.
