NIACC Foundation Board of Directors Elects New Members and Officers

MASON CITY – The North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Foundation is proud to announce the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors:

Kim Pang

Kim Pang of Mason City is the Vice President and General Manager of Diamond Jo Casino in Worth County. He earned a degree in Hospitality Management from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI and completed the University of Nevada, Reno Casino Executive Development Program Certification. Pang is a member of the American Hotel & Motel Association and Confreire de la Chaines des Rotisseurs.  He is currently serving on the board of Mercy Hospital North Iowa, is President Elect of Mason City Chamber of Commerce, Secretary of River City Morning Kiwanis Club and is a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Capital Campaign Committee. He and his wife Deborah have two children.

David W. Zrostlik of Garner is currently the President of Stellar Industries, Inc. He attended Garner-Hayfield Community Schools and earned degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Zrostlik is currently an Executive Committee member on the Board of Directors of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry. He is also President of the Garner-Hayfield Community School Board. Zrostlik and his wife Joan have four children.

New officers for 2013 were also elected during the December 2012 Foundation Board meeting. Kristy Arzberger will serve as President with Brad Davis serving as Vice President. Kathy Grove will continue as Secretary/Treasurer. Members re-elected for three-year terms include Arzberger, Davis, Phil Garland, Denise Kuhn and Jack Nielsen.

Other members of the NIACC Foundation Board of Directors are Gene Christianson, Bill Cooney, Robin Edgar, Tom Edgington, Pat Galasso, Barb Heilskov, Darshini Jayawardena, Karen Knudtson, Kevin Kolbet, Dave McLinn, Dave Moore, Jim Niemants, Ken Peterson, Nancy Prohaska, Cathy Rottinghaus, Lewis Schaal, Cory Thomas and Bambi Urich (ex-officio).

Created in 1968 as a separate 501(c)(3) organization, the NIACC Foundation strives to keep higher education accessible to North Iowa residents through student scholarships and to enhance the programs and activities of the College.

The NIACC Foundation’s mission is to support the College through scholarships, fundraising for special projects, grants for instructor education or other areas of need to help the College work toward its mission.
