MASON CITY – Police confirmed today that a male suspect was caught and arrested after he ran totally nude near MacNider Campground and Kentucky Avenue Monday night.
Sources tell NIT that the man, described as white, early twenties and slender, was “completely naked” and was near the Riverside Church by East Park, Kentucky Avenue and MacNider Camground.
“I saw him run north, first he was in our back yard,” an NIT reader relayed to our newsroom. “Then, he ran north all the way to 11th Street.”
Police were called. The man was said to have been found in his car, parked near the church.
“I heard the police tell him he was being arrested for indecent exposure,” our source explained.
Eric John Despenas, age 27, was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct and indecent exposure. He was covered, cuffed, and put in a squad car for a ride to the county jail.
