Teens lead cops on high-speed pursuit on Avenue

WAVERLY – Teens in a stolen car led law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit north of Waverly this morning.

Today at about 12:10 AM, a Bremer County Deputy stopped a 2006 Ford 500 on Hwy 218 about 1 mile south of Plainfield for speeding. The driver initially stopped for the deputy and was unable to produce a valid driver’s license. The driver then drove away from the Deputy and a pursuit resulted.

During this time it, was learned that the car was reported stolen out of Minneapolis, MN. This pursuit continued southbound on Hwy 218 at speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour. The Iowa State Patrol was able to successfully deploy stop sticks twice which finally resulted in the vehicle being stopped just south of Bennington Road on Hwy 218.

Three people were found to be with the car and all were taken into custody. They were identified as the driver Davon Garner, age 18, of Minneapolis, passenger Sabrina Flowers, age 18, of Waterloo, IA and a juvenile female, age 14, from Minneapolis. All 3 people were charged with Second Degree Possession of Stolen Property, a class D felony.

In addition, Garner was charged with Eluding, a Class D felony, and two counts of excessive speed. The two adults are currently being held at the Bremer County Jail on $5,000 bond each, and Garner has pending arrest warrants from Minneapolis on weapons-related charges. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and was later released.

No injuries resulted from this incident.

The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office thanked the following agencies for their assistance in bringing this incident to a safe conclusion: Waverly Police Department, Iowa Iowa State Patrol, Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office – Waterloo, Iowa, Cedar Falls Police Operations and the Janesville Police Department.

I have 06 Ford 500 and I love it.

…obviously another blatant case of police profiling…oh wait…there is that long list “noting” the many laws he broke! Oh what the heck…that doesn’t matter…they”was” profiling!
