CHARLES CITY – A New Hampton man was stopped by police as he tried to leave town, allegedly driving drunk and recklessly.
On January 24 at about 1:05 AM, Charles City police conducted a traffic stop at the 800 block of North Main Street. After an investigation, officers arrested 23-year-old Jordan Evans of New Hampton on charges of first offense operating while intoxicated, no Iowa driver’s license and reckless driving.
Evans was taken to jail, booked, and later released. He has been appointed a public defender and now awaits hearing on February 13.
