Cops catch two drug dealers traveling through Chickasaw county

NEW HAMPTON – Two men in a speeding vehicle traveling through Chickasaw county were jailed and accused of packaging drugs for sale and delivery.

On Sunday, January 11, 2015 around 5:15 PM, a traffic stop was conducted by the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office on a speeding vehicle on US Highway 63.

Demerus Todd Gordon, age 21 of Davenport, Iowa and Rhmondo Artez Rodriguez, Age 27 of East Moline, Illinois were both subsequently arrested and taken to the Chickasaw County Jail.

Gordon was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, a Class “D” felony.

Rodriguez was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, a Class “D” felony; and speeding, a simple misdemeanor.

Items of evidentiary value were seized from the vehicle. The criminal investigation is continuing. Both men bonded out of the Chickasaw County Jail after their initial appearance in Chickasaw County Magistrate Court.
