
MASON CITY – NIACC freshman Anna Eckert was selected as the ICCAC women’s basketball player of the week for the week of Nov. 17-23.
Eckert (Wyoming, Minn.) averaged 14.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest in wins over RCTC, Rock Valley CC, and NDSCS.
In a 75-46 win over RCTC on Nov. 19, Eckert scored 17 points with 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 blocks and 2 steals.
In a 90-72 win over Rock Valley on Nov. 21, she scored 10 points with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block.
In a 92-84 win over NDSCS on Nov. 22, she scored 17 points with 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 blocks and 5 steals.
For the season, Eckert averages 8.4 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game with 14 steals, 10 assists and nine blocked shots.
It is the second time this season that the NIACC women have had a player selected the ICCAC player of the week. Sophomore Sierra Ford-Washington was the conference and NJCAA Division II player of the week for the week of Nov. 3-9.
NIACC (6-1 overall) returns to action Dec. 2 at home against the Wartburg College junior varsity.
