MASON CITY – The NIACC wrestling team is ranked sixth in the NJCAA preseason poll.
The Trojans, who placed 10th at last year’s national meet, have six individuals in the preseason rankings.
Defending national champions Nosomy Pozo (149 pounds) and Yoanse Mejias (157) are ranked No. 1.
Other ranked wrestlers for the Trojans are Paul Mascarenas (11th at 125), Shiquan Hall (12th at 133), Jake Marlin (6th at 141) and Andy Glaser (11th at 197).
Glaser is a returning national qualifier.
NACC had four third-place finishes at last weekend’s Kaye Young Open. Placing third for the Trojans were Mascarenas (125), Pozo (149), Mejias (157) and Ben Wallace (184).
NIACC returns to action Nov. 15 at the Luther College Open in Decorah.
