Beje Clark inmate on the lam arrested with drugs in MC apartment

MASON CITY – Police caught a runaway from the Beje Clark halfway house with drugs in a Mason City apartment.

Bryson Duane Eppens, age 29, left Beje Clark last week and did not return as scheduled. He has been placed there after being accused by Mason city police of assault with a weapon, carrying weapons, and going armed with intent. A warrant was issued for Eppens’ arrest when he failed to return to Beje. Police discovered him Friday at about 3:15 PM at an apartment house at 551 South Illinois Avenue. During the course of the arrest, Eppens was discovered to be in possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia and charged for those crimes.

Also arrested at the apartment was Erin Elizabeth Hanson, age 31 of Mason City. She was charged with possession of illegal drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft in the third degree and accessory after the fact and taken to jail.

Eppens is being held in the Cerro Gordo county jail, awaiting bed space at Beje Clark. He will face a probation revocation hearing on October 10.

Hanson was released pending a court date.
