MASON CITY – The Lime Creek Nature Center got a little more beautiful this past month with the addition of a new mural in the Charles E. Strickland auditorium.
Jan Kostka along with her daughter Kayde Sberal put in a week’s worth of their time painting this beautiful Tallgrass prairie habitat that once dominated Iowa.
This mural is one of three in the auditorium painted by Kostka that highlight Iowa’s important habitats and resources including wetlands, woodlands, and now prairies.
These three beautiful murals are a great educational and aesthetically pleasing addition to the auditorium. The public is welcome to visit the Nature Center and view these wonderful masterpieces.
