WATERLOO – Police in Waterloo reported on March 7th that residents are complaining of a phone scam where the caller claims to work for the IRS.
Residents are receiving phone calls from a 202 area code claiming they are with the Internal Revenue Service and asking for personal information including the person’s Social Security number.
Police reminded residents to never give personal information over the phone.
