MANCHESTER, IOWA – One woman is dead and a teen injured in a two-car crash Tuesday in Delaware county.
According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, Ashlei Ann Connolly, age 24 of Independence, was waiting at a stop sign at the intersection of 255th Street and 180th Avenue, a few miles south of Manchester, at about 10:46 AM on December 31st when she proceeded through the intersection. A vehicle driven by Emily Ann Grant, age 17 of Delhi, was northbound on 180th Avenue at the same time and entered the intersection, striking Connolly’s 1997 Chevy Cavalier on the driver’s side. Both vehicles came to rest outside the traveled portion of the roadway.
Connolly was killed in the accident. Grant was injured and taken to an area hospital. Both wore seatbelts.
