GARNER – A dangerous sex offender was arrested Tuesday evening in the Britt area.
Authorities had been seeking Randall Lee Lamoreux, age 47, since October 16th after a Hancock County District Court judge had issued an order revoking his bail in a 1st degree burglary and domestic abuse assault case. Lamoreux posted bond on these charges on August 31st and was released from jail. He was arrested in Britt without incident at approximately 7:00 pm on Tuesday. He is currently being held in the Hancock county Jail with no bond.
The State made a motion for recommitment after bail because Lamoreux’s alleged actions while on pretrial release pose a significant risk to the personal safety of members of the community.
Randall Lee Lamoreux is a convicted sex offender in Iowa, committing crimes in Scott and Cerro Gordo counties of 3rd degree kidnapping of a female over the age of 18.
