MASON CITY – A short thunderstorm that packed some punch blew through Mason City Thursday morning, downing trees and making a mess.
The storm arrived at about 10:30 AM and the sky was pitch black. Winds whipped through the downtown area and rain came down in sheets. Just minutes later, the sky lightened up as a light rain continued to fall.
City Operation and Maintenance crews were heading out Friday to pick up limbs and remove debris from the recent storm.
City Hall asked residents to place all limbs and tree debris on the curb for collection by City crews.
Citizens can also call 421-3675 or 420-1999 to provide the address of the location tree debris is down in the community.
