MASON CITY – A proposed dangerous dog ordinance was approved unanimously by the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors Tuesday morning at their regular meeting.
The ordinance aims to “determine what conduct of a dog and owner shall be illegal, establish consequences for dog and owner, and provide reasonable rights of notice and hearing before the imposition of penalties.” See previous discussion of the ordinance here.

The board also heard a road report from County Engineer Mary Kelly. She reported some “blowouts” on some county roads due to high temperatures. Ditch cleaning has also been underway, Kelly reported.

Hope ALL dogs whether its a lab, pit, poodle, or various other ankle biters are treated the same and the “known” bigger breeds catch a break per say… All dog bites should be made mandatory to report instead of just when you go to the hospital or Dr to be treated~ you’ll soon realize it’s the smaller “cuter” ones that bite most often…
But, they don’t take your face off.
Our poodle got a citation, no “licker” license.
