RURAL GRUNDY COUNTY, IOWA – Law enforcement in Northern Iowa nabbed a local resident in a traffic stop and after illegal drugs were found, called in Homeland Security.
On August 11, 2025, Grundy County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop near the 26000 block of K Avenue. After an investigation, they arrested 43-year-old Adalberto Lopez Rivera of Grundy Center, Iowa. Lopez Rivera was charged with:
– POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – MARIJUANA 1ST OFFENSE (SERIOUS MISDEMEANOR)
– POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – (SERIOUS MISDEMEANOR)
Lopez Rivera was jailed in the Grundy county jail and then transferred to be held on a detainer from Homeland Security in the Hardin county jail, records show. He was appointed an interpreter and a public defender as a hearing was scheduled for August 22.
