NORTHWOOD — The Worth County Board of Supervisors approved nearly $2 million in claims, accepted drainage district engineer reports, approved drainage work orders and designated the county’s official public meeting posting location during its regular meeting on June 22, 2026.

The board met with Supervisors Mark Smeby, A.J. Stone and Enos Loberg present. Loberg called the meeting to order, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Supervisors first amended the agenda to add discussion regarding Worthwhile Solar with Kate Millar and Jeff Gorball. The board then approved the amended agenda and the June 15 meeting minutes.

Drainage matters were among the first items handled. Supervisors accepted the engineer’s report for DD 6/Lat 7 as presented by Jon Rosengren of Bolton & Menk. The board also accepted Rosengren’s engineer’s report for DD 11-New Lateral.

Supervisors then approved work orders for DD 10 and DD 23 Main after damage was found by Frank Salvitor while spraying the district.

The board approved claims totaling $1,974,400.53. The largest claim listed was $1,769,433.47 to Croell, Inc. for engineering-related service work. Other major claims included $50,000 to Dick’s Petroleum Company, $28,079.34 to Pictometry International Corp., $20,218.34 to S&H Environmental Services, $16,830 to Bolton & Menk, and $7,282.15 to GeoComm.

Supervisors approved payroll eligibility verification for Missy Dagestad at $45,508 per year, as submitted by the treasurer.

The board also approved Resolution 2026-20, designating the official physical posting location for public meeting notices and agendas under Iowa’s open meetings law and House File 2490.

Under the resolution, Worth County’s official physical posting location will be the bulletin board in the vestibule at the north entrance of the Worth County Courthouse, located at 1000 Central Avenue in Northwood. The resolution says the location is visible and accessible to the public 24 hours a day.

The county will also post notices and tentative agendas on its primary website at www.worthcountyiowa.gov.

The resolution states that the posting process does not replace the county’s duty to notify news media that have requested notice or the requirement to provide 24-hour advance notice of meetings under Iowa law.

The meeting adjourned at 9:15 AM.
