White House Advisor David Plouffe discourages special prosecutor for IRS scandal

NEW YORK, June 2 (UPI) — David Plouffe, senior adviser to U.S. President Obama, said Sunday a special prosecutor shouldn’t investigate the IRS, Benghazi and phone records controversies.

In an appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” Plouffe said he thinks people should be concerned about the IRS targeting conservative groups, and there should be an investigation into the matter.

“I think that as we move forward here, the key thing the American people want to know is, what is going to happen in terms of accountability? What changes are going to be put in place? And all of these things deserve thorough investigation,” he said.

Plouffe stopped short of suggesting that a special prosecutor should be appointed to lead the investigation.

“You [have] any number of congressional committees spending an inordinate amount of time on this, this is going to be looked into thoroughly, as it should be,” he said.

The adviser said Congress shouldn’t be “obsessed with scandal,” and should instead work on the economy.

“My suspicion is Republicans in Congress will stay too obsessed … kind of surfing scandals, trying to repeal Obamacare for the 40th time, and less on the economy, and doing the job they were sent” to do, Plouffe said.

Plouffe is an advisor – but still a tool.
Report I heard this morning said up to 80% of voters think there should be a special prosecutor appointed. There is something wrong when contributors to the Romney campaign are subjected to audits by more than one agency – when they had never heard from them prior to contributing.
Plouffe also says Congress shouldn’t be “obsessed with scandal”. Why not – could it be they might find something embarrassing, or criminal?

Of course they don’t want a special prosecutor. They are afraid of what he will find out and they will not be able to intimidate or threaten whoever that will be.

Cover up is right special prosecutor would be the best thing for IRS, Benghazi, DOJ wiretap and EPA.

Cover up !
