DES MOINES – It will be a windy, chilly night for Black Friday shoppers waiting in line Thursday evening at their favorite stores in North Iowa.
The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a wind advisory for much of North Iowa including Mason City until 6 AM Friday. Wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph and sometimes reaching 45 mph are expected.
Northwest winds have increased substantially behind a cold front that has moved into the region. A second push of cold air later Thursday evening will keep winds brisk, the forecast says.
Driving with caution is recommended.
