200px-Republicanlogo.svgWASHINGTON, June 2 (UPI) — The head of the Republican Party said the current controversy over the Internal Revenue Service will be a component of the GOP midterm elections.

Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, said on “Fox News Sunday” the uproar over the IRS’ processing of tax-exemption applications from conservative political organizations will be a potent reason for voters to think twice about giving Obama and the Democrats a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“We have seen what an unchecked DOJ (Department of Justice) and IRS is up to,” said Priebus. “Clearly, having an unchecked Barack Obama for two years is not going to be good for this country.”

Priebus said a Democratic House and Senate would give Obama “nothing but daylight in front of him” and open the door for further alleged abuses.

Priebus also proposed it was the Republican-controlled House that was coming up with constructive ideas to improve the national economy and the Democrats in the Senate who blocked their adoption. “I think that big things can happen in this country, but I think trust is an issue,” he said. “Perhaps this IRS issue will give us an opportunity to tackle the IRS, our tax code in this country, and get ourselves back on the rails.”

  1. Notice the majority of people testifying in the hearing today about being targeted by the IRS were women? The press should discuss how many women are leaders in the tea party movement. Interesting…

  2. To quote from Newsmax “The aim of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty is to combat the illicit trade of arms by “tightening regulation of, and setting international standards for, the import, export and transfer of conventional weapons” IF you read the entire Snopes article, after explaining what was said in the common post that the UN is trying to restrict our 2nd amendment rights, they go to explain WHY the UN or the US for that matter, cannot restrict our 2nd amendment rights. It also states that the Obama administration gave 3 MANDATORY conditions before we would vote for it. Read those three. If you can’t, then let me know and I will reprint them here with my take on the meaning. Finally, the treaty would apply only to INTERNATIONAL sales. That means a gun dealer in Mason City couldn’t sell 10 uzis to some guy in Somalia or Afghanistan. Finally, LVS, I am not sure what my usual standards are, but the article in Snopes was written in 2010 and updated in April of 2013; Newsmax’s story came out 3 hours ago therefore kerry’s recent statement wouldn’t have been in the Snopes article. But, the Snopes article does mention Kerry’s statement after the passage of the treaty. Sorry if you don’t like it.

    1. @bodacious-This is what I have always seen from you. Detailed facts. I was not trying to insult you at all.

        1. It is a known fact that George Soros owns snopes but if you don’t want to believe me then that is your right, ignorant as it is it is your right.

      1. @maybe-It is kind of strange that snopes doesn’t even mention John Kerry and his written news release and newsmax quotes him all the way. I think I will go with newsmax.

    1. @maybe-does this really surprise you? We have been hearing rumors about this for some time. The bunch of crooks that are in the administration don’t care about the constitution or our legal process. There will be a revolution coming in not to long.

      1. I talked about this a couple months ago and people called me crazy, that Obama would never do anything like that, I was paranoid, I think a tin foil hat was mentioned too.

  3. Most of the 9/11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia…Is that who we should have attacked? Unlike persons of your ilk and Obama the idea to go into Iraq was a bi-partisan voted decision.

  4. Obama is a power-hungry control freak a la J. Edgar Hoover who thinks he can do whatever he pleases and no one will care, even if he or his cohorts get caught. He knows the voters who live off the taxpayers will vote as he instructs, even at this next midterm election. I’ll be surprised if they go against his wishes as long as the money Messiah is alive.

    1. Any president who has been elected is a power-driven, control freak. It is the nature of the job. Why would someone who doesn’t like power, who prefers others control him or her, who thinks their opinions aren’t important, and who thinks others are smarter than him/her want to be president?
Power and money are what is destroying this country and has been for many, many years and many, many presidents. I support President Obama because he is the elected leader of our country. I don’t agree with President Obama on everything he or his cabinet does. I believe the Democratic platform is a much better platform than the Republican platform for the common, everyday American. The Republicans believe that the power and money belong to a few, selected individuals. Unfortunately, that same mentality is creeping into the upper echelons of the Democratic party.
We need a 3rd party that can find a middle road and is based on the idea of tolerance and equality for all.

      1. @bodacious-Good post. That I can go along with. We need a good strong 3rd party that will represent us and not the special interest.

  5. Benghazi, IRS, DOJ illegal wiretaps and now EPA. This administration is has violated any trust the American people should have in their President. It is time for Obama and Biden to step down. There is no way they did not know and were not involved in each of these illegal acts. That is not how it works in Washington it all starts at the top.

    1. @Tim-Holder is Obama’s boy and does exactly what he is told to by Obama. Anyone who thinks different is a fool.

    2. All of this pales in comparison to the thousands of young men & women Bush killed in Iraq & Afghanistan. Doesn’t even begin to come close.

      1. Give me a frikken break. You people just don’t get it do you. If you were there you would have seen what was going on. War is hell and I don’t wish it on anybody but sometimes it is a nessessary evil. Comparing the war to what Obama is doing is stupid and ignorant. We were attacked and we responded, if you don’t give a f##k about those people that died in the towers that is your pathetic business. Obama is destroying our country on purpose, all Bush did despite what you think was attacking the enemy that attacked us.

        1. You tell more lies than Micheal Douglas has cracked open trim. We all know Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

        2. Maybe, I can’t believe you’re that ignorant about 9/11. Do you still think it was Saddam Hussein who attacked us? Granted, he was no angel, but it was not Iraq that attacked us. Read up on it before you make comments that make you look stupid.

        3. Let me ask you a question since you are so smart and I am so stupid. Have you ever heard of Al Quada? It was proven that al quada had training camps in Iraq and since we gave Iraq biological weapons in the late 80’s and there was evidence that Iraq was supplying them to al quada there was plenty of evidence to go into Iraq.

        4. Osama Bin Laden was the mastermind behind 9/11. We all know this. So why did Bush go after Saddam Hussein instead? Could it be to appease everyone who criticized his daddy for not getting him when he had the chance?

        5. Apparently you can’t read either, if you would actually read what I just said you would have your answer.

      2. @opinionated- Why is it every time you can’t defend your head communist closet Muslim Obama you resort to calling Bush names and telling everyone over and over again what Bush did in your opinion. Get off it, it is getting damn old.. This is not about Bush at all, it is about your god Osama Obama and Bush has nothing to do with it. It is time for You and Obama to stand on your own feet and take responsibility for your own mistakes and he has made plenty and it is just starting to unravel on him. (and YOU)

        1. LVS, are you off your meds again? Show me where I called Bush a name. YOU are the name caller.

        2. @opinionated-so I called you a name stupid. Does the truth hurt or don’t you damn communist liberals know the truth when you see it. Your so big on insinuating things but don’t like it when you get called out on it. Anyone dumb enough to support Osama Obama deserves everything they get. You make me sick. You people are destroying our country and are not smart enough to see it. Now suck on that.

        3. I do get a kick out of you, LVS. You make me chuckle. It never takes much to send you off on a worse tantrum than a two-year-old. You’re entertaining, I’ll give you that.

      3. Just my opinion I agree we should have never been in Iraq. Both Democrats and Republicans voted to go to Iraq. No matter how many want to claim they did not. But that war and mistake does not give this President a pass do lie and do what he is doing.
