MASON CITY – The Mason City Fire Department raised thousands of dollars over the Labor Day weekend for charity.
Today, the Mason City Fire Department announced that the annual “Fill the Boot” drive raised $8,289.63.
The department holds the fund drive every year and the proceeds are given to Muscular Dystrophy.
“We (Mason City Fire Fighters) have been out here since this morning,” said Mason City firefighter Scott Wickwire over the weekend, “and we’ll be out here all weekend.”
“We would like to that everyone that donated,” the department said today.
