ST. LOUIS – Adrian Peterson rushed for 210 yards, including an 82 yard touchdown run, in leading the Minnesota Vikings past the St. Louis Rams Sunday.

The Vikings never trailed in the game and stormed out to a 30-7 halftime lead.

Peterson is making a serious push towards the league’s all-time single-season rushing mark, still held by Eric Dickerson, set in 1984. Peterson now has 1,812 rushing yards this season, a career high. He needs 294 yards to top Dickerson’s mark of 2,105.

Christian Ponder was able to play and commit zero turnovers in the game while throwing for 131 yards.  Kicker Blair Walsh was good on all 5 field goal attempts.

The Vikings have two tough games remaining.  They travel to Houston to take on the AFC-leading Texans next weekend and then close out the season with a home game against the NFC North champion Green Bay Packers.
