MASON CITY – North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) is participating in GivingTuesday, the global movement of generosity, for the first time this year, spotlighting an essential campus resource: the NIACC Food Pantry. Located in the Foundation suite and open to the NIACC community, the Food Pantry provides vital support to those experiencing food insecurity. Each month, approximately 200 visitors utilize this resource, making it a cornerstone of the college’s commitment to student well-being and success.

This year, NIACC is inviting alumni and the community to participate in GivingTuesday by making a donation that will help stock the Pantry’s shelves. GivingTuesday, which takes place on December 3, 2024, is a global day of giving that inspires millions of people around the world to support causes that matter to them and foster collaboration within their communities.

“Participating in GivingTuesday for the first time is an incredible opportunity for NIACC to come together as a community and support our students in a meaningful way,” said Molly Knoll, Foundation Director. “The Food Pantry makes a real difference in the lives of our students, and we’re excited to use this day of generosity to ensure that this vital resource continues to thrive.”

The NIACC Food Pantry is a reflection of the college’s dedication to supporting its students not only academically but also in their day-to-day needs. By joining the global GivingTuesday movement, NIACC is amplifying its mission to create a stronger, more resilient community.

No, you show no empathy, no concern, no compassion for those less fortunate. And you call yourself a Christian.
